Jesus / Isa died a natural death according to the Qur’an

According to the Qur’an, Jesus is dead?

by Jamil McCant

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Many Muslims as well as Christians all anticipate the Second Coming of Christ, who is said to return to clear up misconceptions about his ‘Divinity’ and whether or not he died on the cross. It is also reported that he will proclaim Islam as the True Religion by allying himself alongside Imam Mahdi, a savior who is expected to appear before the end of time and cleanse the world of corruption and bring victory to the Muslims on Earth, as well as create a New Islamic World Order comparable to that of King Solomon and Dhul Qarnayn. How is it that an event so grand has not been mentioned even once in the Qur’an? Does not Allah say that the Qur’an is Fully-Detailed?

The Quran is sufficiently detailed by Allah the Most Wise, and it reminds us of this aspect repeatedly (6:19,38,55,97,114-116,119,126; 7:32,52,174; 9:11; 10:5,24,37; 11:1; 12:111; 13:2; 17:12; 30:28; 41:3; 41:44; 79:19).

As we will show, none of this is mentioned in the Qur’an, as it is only found in Hadith. Not only that, but it actually contradicts the Qur’an. We will also show how the Qur’an has been brought under Hadith Compliance by interpreters and translators by translating/interpreting the ayats in such a way that it would make it appear to agree with the Hadith, rather than dismissing them as forgeries.

Many false Hadith, referred to as ‘Al-Isra’iliyyaat, which are forgeries by Christian and Jewish converts to Islam cropped up a few hundred years after the death of the Final Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (as). This story is more than likely based on one of those Hadith.

Allah says:

5:116 And Allah will say: “O Jesus, son of Mary, did you tell the people to take you and your mother as gods other than Allah?” He said: “Glory to you, I cannot say what I have no right of. If I had said it then You know it, You know what is in my self while I do not know what is in Your self. You are the Knower of the unseen.”

5:117 “I only said to them what You commanded me to say, that you shall serve Allah my Lord and your Lord; and I was witness over them as long as I was with them, –>BUT WHEN YOU TERMINATED MY LIFE<–, You were watcher over them. You are witness over all things.”

** This word (tawaffaytani) in Surah Al-Ma’idah 116-117 literally means “You caused me to die”, but is translated as “You raised me up” because it is being interpreted based on hadiths that state that Isa (AS) is still alive and will be returning at the end of time to proclaim Islam as the true religion. **

Allah says in Qur’an that the Jews neither killed or crucified Isa (AS):

4:157 And for claiming that they killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the messenger of God. In fact, –>THEY NEVER KILLED HIM, THEY NEVER CRUCIFIED HIM – they were made to think that they did. All factions who are disputing in this matter are full of doubt concerning this issue. They possess no knowledge; they only conjecture. For certain, they never killed him.*

** The ayat says the did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it does not say he never died. Because of the ways these ayats have been translated/interpreted them in light of forged hadith, many people believe that Jesus (AS) is alive, and they ignore the ayats where Allah clearly states that Jesus (AS) is dead and that Allah is the one who made him die. **

فَكَيْفَ إِذَا تَوَفَّتْهُمُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ يَضْرِبُونَ وُجُوهَهُمْ وَأَدْبَارَهُمْ

In another ayat:

3:55 For Allah said: “O Jesus, –>I WILL TERMINATE YOUR LIFE<–, and RAISE YOU TO ME, and cleanse you of those who have rejected, and make those who have followed you above those who have rejected until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, all of you, so I will judge between you in what it was that you disputed.”

This word (mutawaffeeka) is only used once in Qur’an. It is translated in many translations as “I will take you”, even though it comes from the same root (“tawaffaa”, cause to die) as ‘tawaffaytanee” (You caused me to die).

Active participle (form V)
(3:55:6) mutawaffīka
(will) take you (really means “will take your soul, cause death to become you”)
إِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يَا عِيسَىٰ إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ

Allah says that the Messengers that came before the Prophet Muhammad (AS) have passed away:

3:144 And Muhammed is but a messenger, the messengers who came before him have long since passed away. If he dies or is killed will you turn back on your heels? And whoever turns back on his heels, he will not harm Allah in the least. And Allah will recompense the thankful.

Allah says Jesus and Mary USED TO eat food:

5:75 The Messiah, son of Mary, is no more than a messenger; the messengers who came before him have long since passed away; and his mother was trustworthy, they USED TO eat the food. See how We clarify the signs for them, then see how they deviate.

** This can be viewed as a refutation to those who ascribed divinity to Jesus and Mary and claimed they were partners alongside Allah. They ate food, which means they relied upon the provisions of Allah. This would refute the claim of their divinity. Allah says that they USED TO eat food, meaning they no longer do. **

Allah says that all messengers were mortal men who relied on food:

21:7 And We did not send before you except men whom We inspired
to. So ask the people of the Reminder if you do not know.

21:8 And We did not make for them bodies that do not need to eat, nor were they immortal.

** We can conclude that if Jesus is still alive in his body, he would need to eat food in order to survive. Allah says he and his mother no longer eat food. This is an indicator that neither are no longer alive in their physical bodies, which cannot leave the physical plane, but must return to the earth. **

Do dead people come back to life?

23:99 Until death comes to one of them, he says: “My Lord, send me back.”

23:100 “So that I may do good in what I have left behind.” No, it is but a word he is speaking. There is a barrier to prevent them from going back until the day they are all resurrected.*

23:101 So when the horn is blown, then there will be no kinship between them on that day, nor will they ask for one another.

** Allah clearly states here that when we die, we do not come back here to this physical plane, nor do we have power to interact with the physical world. Jesus returning from the dead would be reincarnation (Tanasukh), which is counter to Islamic belief. That’s another reason why proponents of the Return of Jesus say he was raised alive to Heaven. We have already proven this to be false **

Jesus on the Day of Judgment:

5:116 And Allah will say: “O Jesus, son of Mary, did you tell the people to take you and your mother as Allahs other than Allah?” He said: “Glory to you, I cannot say what I have no right of.

** The story of Jesus on Earth seems to pretty much end there with no mention of returning to Earth. The story picks up on the Day of Judgment when he is being questioned by Allah as to whether he told the people to worship him and his mother Mary, which he strongly denies. He also says he did not witness what took place afterwards, which is another indication that he indeed died and passed through the one-way barrier known as ‘Barzakh’, remaining there until the Day of Judgment. **

** This would have been a perfect time for Allah to announce the return of Jesus to the world, but He does not. Allah also says He will make those who followed him above those who have rejected until the Day of Resurrection. ‘Those who followed him’ could never refer to those who deified Jesus and his Mother, rather this could only refer to the Muslims who followed him at that time and those who believed in the Message of the Qur’an. as Muslims we do not make distinctions between the Messengers of Allah. Their message is one and the same and those who follow the Qur’an are indeed followers of the same teachings preached by Jesus.

There is no mention of a return of Jesus to the world to straighten things out among the Christians. To say otherwise would suggest that sending the Final Prophet and the Qur’an, which is referred to by Allah as the Clarifiying Book would not have been enough to guide people to the straight path. Rather, Christians would need a Prophet from 2,000 or so years prior to come back on the clouds in order to convince them. Why not bring back all the Prophets in that case?

The case of the Christians was closed when Allah did “Tawaffaa” to Jesus and brought the Final Prophet with the Qur’an explaining the truth of the matter. Those who fell into dispute over the reality of Jesus will have a tough choice to make; they can either accept the Word of Allah and the Truth of the Qur’an, or wait to have it all sorted out on the Day of Judgment when it’s too late. **

This is just my humble observation. My opinion is not to be followed. Follow the Qur’an and the Guidance of Allah! Everything I said that is accurate and true is from Allah, and any mistakes are mine. And Allah Knows Best! **

  1. Islam is not a religion, but a cult and Muhammad was its lone, self proclaimed prophet, and Allah was his Demonic Illusion. Muhammad was a liar, pedophilia, mass murderer etc, if you find these allegation shocking. See the evidence yourself here:- http://www.thefalseprophet.co.cc
I bet if you prove me wrong, I m ready to remove my site..

    • Rj3865…

The only authorized book of Islam is the Qur’an, and I do not refer to man-made books of Hadith, nor do I believe in them. This is because Allah has commanded us in the Qur’an to follow nothing other than His revealed texts (Torah, Gospel, and the Qur’an). Allah tells us that nothing outside of the His own words should be followed or trusted. These hadiths you quote are nothing but fabrications of Satan to lead people away from Islam. Look and see what the Qur’an really says:

1). People who use Hadith to mislead and divert people away from the truth.

31:6 And from the people, there are those who will purchase a
baseless Hadith with which ==> to mislead from the path of Allah <== without knowledge, and to make it a mockery. These will have a
      humiliating retribution.

Perhaps now you see why Allah condemns the use of Hadith and commands us to follow Qur'an Alone.

      • 2). Do not record Hadith and attribute them to Allah or the Messenger. Allah and the Messenger only vouch for the Qur’an.

33:53 O you who believe, do not enter the homes of the prophet unless you are invited to a meal, without you forcing such an invitation. But if you are invited, you may enter. And when you finish eating, you shall leave, ==> WITHOUT REMAINING BEHIND FOR HADITH. BEST HADITH (Qur’an) <==, a Book that is similar with two paths. The skins of those who are concerned towards their Lord shiver from it, then their skins and their hearts soften up to the remembrance of Allah. Such is the guidance of Allah; He guides with it whoever He wills. And for whoever Allah misguides, then none can guide him.

      • 3). Whoever judges by a book other than the ones authorized by Allah to be followed are warned of a punishment for doing so…

The Command to Judge by Qur’an Alone…

“…And whoever does not JUDGE BY WHAT ALLAH HAS REVEALED – then it is those who are the disbelievers.” Al-Quran 5:44

“… and whoever does not JUDGE BY WHAT ALLAH HAS REVEALED- then it is those who are the wrongdoers.” Al-Quran, 5:45

“…And whoever does not JUDGE BY WHAT ALLAH HAS REVEALED- then it is those who are the defiantly disobedient.” Al-Quran, 5:47

“And judge, [O Muhammad], between them BY WHAT ALLAH HAS REVEALED TO YOU (QUR’AN) and do not follow their inclinations and beware of them, lest they tempt you away from some of what Allah has revealed to you…” Al-Quran, 5:49

45:6 These are the revelations of Allah, We recite them to you with the truth. So, in which Hadith after Allah and His revelations do they believe?

45:7 Woe to every sinful FABRICATOR.

      • 4). The Prophet as well as those who follow him were commanded to refer to the Qur’an for judgments and nothing else…

“[Say], ‘Then is it other than Allah I should seek as judge while it is He who has revealed to you the BOOK EXPLAINED IN DETAIL?’ And those to whom We [previously] gave the Scripture know that it is sent down from your Lord in truth, so never be among the doubters.” Surah Al-An’am, ayat 114

“And We have certainly given you, [O Muhammad], seven of the often repeated [verses] and THE GREAT QUR’AN.” 15:87

Therefore, as you can clearly see the Qur’an condemns the use of Hadith. All of the things you said about the Prophet are the same as what was said before by previous others who based their opinions on man-made, fabricated, demeaning and insulting books called hadiths which were compiled 250-600 years after the death of the Prophet, rather than consult the Qur’an, which is the sole source of guidance that ALL MUSLIMS SWEAR BY.

      • Having said that, please provide proof of your claims about the Prophet from a source i accept. Show me in the Qur’an. If you are unable to so, then please reflect on the following verses of Qur’an for future reference…

        Surah 17:45-46

“And when you recite the Qur’an, We put between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter a concealed partition.

And We have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And when you mention your Lord using the Qur’an Alone, they turn back in aversion.”

        Surah 6:112-113

“And thus We have made for every prophet an enemy – devils from Al-Ins and Al-Jinn (The two races of mankind) , inspiring to one another ==> IN DECORATIVE SPEECH IN DELUSION, SO LEAVE THEM AND THAT WHICH THEY INVENT…”

Allah warns us to be cautious of ‘Devils’ (Shaytans) who use decorative speech in delusion, which is basically another word for “story-telling”, and the ability convince people to believe in it regardless of whether or not it is logical, hence it is classified as a form of delusion.

Despite the fact Allah already knew that these devils would fabricate Hadith in order to mislead people away from His path, He allowed it to occur. Therefore, there must be a reason for it…

“And [it is] so the hearts of those who disbelieve in the Hereafter will incline toward it and that they will be satisfied with it and that they will commit that which they are committing.”

Basically, it’s a way of testing us to know who is upon guidance and who has gone astray. Those who follow the Qur’an Alone as commanded consider all Hadith to be baseless, which just so happens to be where most of your information comes from. If you would like to have a discussion about it from a purely Qur’anic perspective, and not the perspective of Satanic Hadith (which are not a part of the Islamic Teachings) as required by Qur’an, I am all for it.

        Peace
